  • Dr.
    Samuel Kopman
    DVM

    Ross University College of Veterinary Medicine 2001.

    Dr. Kopman has been caring for pets and animal companions for 11 years.  He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Southwest Washington Veterinary Medical Association.  He enjoys the variety and challenges of caring and helping dogs and cats and their families.

    He enjoys traveling with his wife and family.   He has a keen interest in bee keeping and is actively attempting to improve his bee stock through selective breeding.

    Sandra Memenis
    DVM

    Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine 2010.

    After graduating from veterinary school in the Midwest, Dr. Memenis began practicing on the Oregon coast and remained there for three years honing her skills with companion animal and emergency medicine.  She moved to Vancouver in 2013 with her husband and the transition from the ocean to the mountains was a good one for their family. Sandra has been part of the Hearthwood team for six years now and is happy to announce that this past spring she passed her certification examination for acupuncture through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS) and will now be offering it as an integrated modality for pain  management to the pet parents of Vancouver. She enjoys the adventure of exploring the Columbia River Gorge and all that it has to offer by hiking, backpacking, and camping with her faithful rescue pups Sierra and Summit.

    Morgan Markuson
    DVM

    Dr. Markuson has always had a deep love for animals which inspired her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine to be able to steward the bond between people and their pets.  Dr. Markuson completed her undergraduate degree in Biology at Portland State University, and graduated from OSU College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. She joined the Hearthwood team shortly after. Dr. Markuson loves the “sugar faced” senior pets and enjoys educating clients on patient care. She has a special interest in rehabilitation and osteoarthritis management and would like to pursue certification in canine rehabilitation.

    Dr. Markuson spends her free time soaking up the beautiful PNW wilderness hiking and backpacking with her husband and their two golden’s Lincoln and Wally. She also enjoys gardening, experimenting with new recipes, and spending time with family.

    Haley Primley
    DVM

    Hello my name is Dr. Haley Primley. I am a graduate of Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Throughout vet school, I gained a lot of valuable experience in both small and large animal medicine. I take a special interest in surgery, radiology, and sports medicine. It is always my goal address each individual’s concerns while also providing the best quality of care with compassion. Prior to vet school, I received my bachelors degree in Biology at Washington State University of Vancouver.

    Outside of veterinary medicine I enjoy spending time with my dog (Oakley), my cat (Baloo), and my horses and cattle. I am originally from the Vancouver, Washington area and am so glad to be back and working with some of the amazing pets and their owners here.

    Dena Baumgartner
    DVM

    Dr. Baumgartner graduated vet school on a US Army Health Professions scholarship. After graduation, she served 3 years of active duty as a Captain in the Vet Corp caring for Military working dogs and government-owned horses.
